Albania joins # Girl2Leader Global Campaign to promote girls' participation in leadership

The Albanian National Youth Network, Tirana Youth Parliament, the Albanian Coalition for Education and CRCA Albania together to support the National Campaign in Albania for more girls in leadership

Tirana, July 5, 2018 - The Albanian National Youth Network (ANYN), the Child Rights Center Albania (CRCA), the Albanian Coalition for Education (ACE) and the Tirana Youth Parliament, joined today the most important global campaign #Girl2Leader that promotes girls empowerment and inclusiveness in leadership and decision-making.

On 11 October 2018, on International Girls day, politicians and girls in over 30 countries around the world will organizethe events, which includes the responsibility of selecting and inviting a group of girls and giving a personal introduction to politics. #Girl2Leader and the host will help girls understand how to navigate the complex system of politics, at the national and international level.

Albania was invited this year to organize its own activities and summit for #Girl2Leader. As a host country, the organizations will encourage all girls to get involved and participate in politics and decision-making. The Global campaign #Girl2LeaderAlbania aims to enable girls across the country to get empowered to participate and contribute as girls’ leaders in national and international politics.

Every girl, anywhere in Albania, can join the campaign. We invite them to share their inspirational stories on social networks by using hashtags: #Girl2Leader in Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, #Girl2Leader in Storify etc. In Albania, #Girl2LeaderAlbania will be used along with the other hashtags.

All the girls who want to become part of the campaign are invited to share their messages, impressions or videos from family discussions, school or university, workplace, with friends or from the communities where they live, on what they think about girls in leadership in Albania.

They will spread the message that getting involved in politics is possible – at any age – and is an option that lies within their reach.
