“6% TO EDUCATION” TOWARDS A JOINT ACTION FOR INCREASING THE BUDGET FOR EDUCATION

Tiranë, 27 September 2017 – Albanian Coalition for Education organized today a consultative meeting with CSOs, teachers’ trade union, youth advocacy group to discus, coordinate and undertake joint initiatives to advocate for an increase of the education budget for children and young people.  

During this meeting the participants discussed the insufficient budget allocated to education, issues that children and youth face, access and quality in education, etc.  

The youth advocacy group informed the participants the problems related to the Higher Education, study fees and decided to join the initiatives that the group will organize in the future.

Albanian Coalition for Education, CSOs, independent teachers’ trade union, and youth advocacy group will soon take on concrete steps for advocating for the increase of the education budget for children and young people, as we believe that 6% of GDP to education ensures inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning
