National Network for Child Rights established in Albania

The network will address urgently the most serious violation of children’s rights in the country

Tirana, 28 May 2018 – Some of the most important organizations for the protection of children rights in Albania, lunched today the Albanian National Child Rights Network: Act for Children!

ACT FOR CHILDREN! comes as an initiative of the Children Rights Center in Albania – CRCA, in collaboration with the National Child Helpline – ALO 116, ECPAT Albania, Albanian Coalition for Education -  ACE, “Children Today” Center and the Albanian National Youth Network – ANYN.

The network will undertake joint actions on advocating for the respect and protection of children rights in Albania, through legislative and policy initiatives, information, advocate for better local and national services, research and monitoring of the situation of the children. The preparation of EU policy reviews and recommendations and UN alternative reports on the situation of children rights in Albania will be a priority for the Network.

ACT FOR CHILDREN! will be at the forefront of the actions for reviewing and evaluation of achievement of Albania in prevention of violence against children. It will promote networking of organizations at local level with professional and experts that work for children, while play and active part in terms of negotiations of Albania with the European Union. ACT FOR CHILDREN will be guided in all its actions from principal Convent of UN for Children Rights, Constitution of Albania etc.

Today the Network offers some of the most important platforms and national services for the rights and protection of the children. Member organisations of ACT FOR CHILDREN! are members of some of the most important European and global networks such as: CHI Missing Children Europe, ECPAT International, Global Missing Children Network, Global Campaign for Education, International Safe Internet Day etc.
